The Stearman Model 75 was an American military trainer aircraft, of which at least 10,626 were built in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s.  Widely known as the Stearman or Kaydet with the RCAF, it served as a primary trainer throughout World War II. After the conflict was over, thousands of surplus aircraft were sold on the civilian market. In the immediate postwar years, they became popular as crop dusters and sports planes, and for aerobatic and wing walking use in air shows. The Vintage Wings of Canada Stearman (FJ875) was one of the few remaining examples of the 300 original aircraft purchased and employed in Alberta in 1942. The Canadian Museum of Flight Stearman A75N1 is also maintained in flying condition.
