The Leopard 2 is a main battle tank developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s for the West German Army (if you want a good tank, the Germans know a thing or two). The original models up to Leopard 2A4 have vertically faced turret armour. The 2A4M is the upgraded Canadian version of the Leopard 2A4 acquired from the Royal Netherlands Army maintaining the shorter L44 barrel as recommended by experienced Canadian tank crews for conditions in Afghanistan.
